The Headquarters of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Imo State, on Tuesday, December 24, 2025, hosted the Commander of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo, on an operational visit aimed at strengthening inter-service cooperation and enhancing operational synergy.

Welcoming the OPDS Commander, the Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade and Land Component Commander, Operation UDOKA, Major General IM Abbas, briefed him on the Brigade’s ongoing operational activities under Operation UDOKA. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, maintaining peace and security, and providing support to civil authorities within its Area of Responsibility.

Major General Abbas also outlined measures being implemented to tackle prevailing security challenges and ensure sustained stability in the region. He emphasised that effective collaboration among security agencies remains critical to achieving operational success.

In his remarks, Rear Admiral Oladipo commended the officers and men of the 34 Artillery Brigade for their professionalism, resilience and dedication in the discharge of their duties. He charged the Brigade to sustain and intensify efforts toward the protection of critical national assets, particularly oil and gas exploration facilities and related infrastructure within the joint operations environment.

The OPDS Commander further appealed to host communities to continue supporting military operations by cooperating with security agencies and promptly reporting any grievances or misunderstandings between communities and oil and gas companies through appropriate military channels, in the interest of peace and security.

Highlights of the visit included the presentation of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book and a group photograph. Senior officers present included the Chief of Staff, 34 Artillery Brigade, Colonel SM Ahmed; the Commanding Officer, 342 Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel BB Laah; the Assistant Chief of Staff G1 and G4, Lieutenant Colonel M Usman, alongside other staff officers of the Brigade.
