The Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo, on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, in Abuja.
The visit formed part of the Commandant’s ongoing familiarisation tour of service headquarters, key government organisations and strategic establishments following his recent appointment.
During the engagement, Air Vice Marshal Ilo briefed the Minister on the mandate and critical functions of NAFRC, emphasising its central role in preparing retiring military personnel for a smooth transition to civilian life.

He highlighted the Centre’s vocational and professional training programmes designed to equip ex-service personnel with skills for economic self-reliance and post-service productivity.
The Commandant further appealed for enhanced support from the Ministry of Finance to strengthen the Centre’s training capacity and improve its infrastructure and operational effectiveness.
He noted that increased financial backing would enable NAFRC to expand its programmes and accommodate the growing number of personnel requiring resettlement training across the Armed Forces.
Responding, Dr Uzoka-Anite congratulated Air Vice Marshal Ilo on his appointment as Commandant and commended the important role of NAFRC in national development.
The Minister assured him of the Ministry’s continued commitment to supporting the Armed Forces of Nigeria, particularly in initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and post-service prospects of military personnel.
She reaffirmed the Federal Government’s recognition of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces and pledged to work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that institutions such as NAFRC receive the necessary support to deliver on their mandate.
The visit underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration in enhancing the welfare and resettlement opportunities of retiring service members, a key component of the Armed Forces’ overall personnel management strategy.
