Abuja, June 12, 2024 — The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has assured Nigerians of imminent victory over the nation’s adversaries.

This assurance was conveyed on Wednesday in a goodwill message delivered by the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, in celebration of the 2024 Democracy Day.

General Musa reiterated the Nigeria Armed Forces’ steadfast commitment and loyalty to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to President Bola Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief. He emphasized the military’s dedication to bolstering democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians, pledging continued collaboration with national and sub-national institutions to uphold constitutional governance.

Acknowledging the sacrifices made by service members across various operational theaters, General Musa praised their dedication to the unity and growth of Nigeria. He urged military personnel to maintain their commitment to democratic principles, protect citizens’ rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment.

In his message, General Musa also called on Nigerians to remain optimistic in the face of current challenges and to support the military’s efforts against terrorism and criminality. He expressed confidence that victory is within reach and extended his best wishes to President Tinubu and all Nigerians for a happy and peaceful Democracy Day celebration.
