The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Logistics Command, Rear Admiral OO Fadeyi, paid a familiarization visit to the Headquarters Naval Training Command (HQ NAVTRAC).
The visit aimed to strengthen logistics coordination between both Commands, particularly in the seamless supply of petroleum products, materials, and other provisions essential for the effective functioning of Ships and Establishments under NAVTRAC.
Commitment to Seamless Logistics Support
During the visit, Rear Admiral Fadeyi emphasized the critical role of efficient logistics in sustaining naval operations. He assured that the Logistics Command remains committed to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of essential resources to facilitate training and operational activities within the Nigerian Navy.
“Our mission is to ensure that all necessary resources—petroleum products, materials, and provisions—are readily available to support NAVTRAC and the broader objectives of the Nigerian Navy,” he stated.
He further highlighted the strategic importance of logistics efficiency in bolstering the readiness of naval personnel and assets, reinforcing the Nigerian Navy’s capability to execute its constitutional roles effectively.
Strengthening Training and Operational Readiness
In his response, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral IM Albara, expressed appreciation for the visit and commended FOC LOG for prioritizing logistics support for training and operations.
He reaffirmed the commitment of NAVTRAC to upholding the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla’s, mission and vision, which focus on:
- Developing a credible naval power to enhance national prosperity and security.
- Deploying a well-trained, organized, and highly motivated naval force to meet Nigeria’s maritime security needs.
- Ensuring operational efficiency through structured and well-coordinated training programs.
Rear Admiral Albara noted that adequate logistics support is fundamental to achieving these goals, as it enables NAVTRAC to deliver highly skilled naval personnel ready to serve in various capacities.

The visit underscored the strong inter-command cooperation between the Logistics Command and NAVTRAC, ensuring that training and operational units receive timely and adequate support to enhance their combat readiness and maritime security efforts.
