The Prayer and Support 4 the Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has issued a strong call to action following the brutal killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba and several soldiers in Borno State.
In a statement signed by its convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi Fatile, the group described the incident as a profound national loss that demands an urgent and united response.
PSNAFSA noted that although the country is celebrating the recent rescue of kidnapped students and worshippers, those successes have been overshadowed by the sacrifice of the troops who “paid for our collective security with their lives.”
The organisation emphasised that the fallen soldiers were not only uniformed personnel but also “fathers, brothers and husbands,” whose deaths have created deep voids in families and communities across Nigeria.
PSNAFSA called on the Federal Government to immediately equip frontline troops with modern platforms, tools and logistics required to achieve “total battlefield dominance.” It also urged the authorities to identify and prosecute individuals and networks financing terrorism and violent crimes in the country.
“There can be no lasting peace while these merchants of violence operate with impunity,” the statement read.
The group further appealed to Nigerians to support the Armed Forces and security agencies through prayers, vigilance and cooperation, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
PSNAFSA also urged the media to avoid giving undue publicity to terrorists and bandits, warning that amplifying attacks only emboldens violent groups.
Reaffirming its commitment to intercession and advocacy on behalf of security personnel, PSNAFSA said the protection of Nigerian lives must remain the country’s “supreme and non-negotiable national priority.”
