Abuja — The newly appointed Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, earlier today, 28 October 2025, joined the Chief of Defence Staff and other newly appointed Service Chiefs on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Defence and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja.

The visit marked the first collective engagement of the new military leadership following their appointments by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on October 24, 2025.

The meeting provided an avenue for the Service Chiefs to reaffirm their collective commitment to strengthening national security coordination, enhancing inter-agency synergy, and advancing the strategic objectives of the Federal Government in tackling emerging security challenges across the country.

The courtesy visit also underscored the renewed determination of the Armed Forces to align operational strategies with government priorities, ensuring a more integrated and effective approach to national defence and internal security management.

As part of his official engagements, Air Vice Marshal Aneke also paid a visit to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. During the visit, he commended General Musa for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to national security. He further assured that under his command, the Nigerian Air Force will build upon the solid foundations and enduring legacies established by his predecessors, while remaining firmly committed to upholding the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and defending the nation’s sovereignty.
