Ikuru Town, Rivers State – On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the Naval Outpost (NOP) Ikuru conducted a sensitization campaign focusing on the personal hygiene of the girl child at Community Secondary School in Ikuru Town, Rivers State. This initiative is part of the Civil-Military Cooperation activities under Operation Delta Sanity.
Captain MT Sulieman, Commanding Officer of NOP Ikuru, led the awareness campaign, which included a comprehensive talk on menstrual health, personal hygiene, and counseling for the female students. The campaign also saw the distribution of sanitary towels, detergents, and bathing soaps to over 220 female students and staff members of the school.
“This awareness campaign is crucial in promoting the health and well-being of our young girls, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and resources for proper personal hygiene,” Captain Sulieman stated.
The event highlights the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to community engagement and supporting the welfare of local populations through Operation Delta Sanity.
