The son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu, was out on Saturday, August 12, 2023, to celebrate International Youth Day at the Jabi Lake Recreational Park in Abuja.
At the park, operatives of the Special Boat Service (SBS) of the Nigerian Navy, the special forces unit of the force were sighted on the ground to ensure his safety.

According to analysts, Nigeria has a problem with the misapplication of security assets, and it is difficult to understand why the Navy SBS is providing security “in a low-risk environment.”
They said that the elite Special Operations Unit is rarely deployed for executive protection duties except in high-risk environments.
Philips Ndahi commented: “I have said it a million times. We need a separate Presidential Protection Unit off (especially the DSS). Plus, if private citizens can have the PMF and DSS protection, it’s just a piece of cake for our Special Forces to be reduced to low risk VIP protection. It’s terrible.”
Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigerian president Bola Tinubu, has become immensely powerful in the new administration and is set to gain even more influence.
Still in high school when his father became Lagos State governor in 1999, the younger Tinubu’s unfettered access to the president has made him the ‘go-to’ guy.
