Tinubu Orders Military to End Insecurity by 2025 – Defence Minister

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian military to eliminate banditry and all forms of insecurity across the country by the end of 2025.

This was revealed by the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, in a viral video where he assured Nigerians of the government’s commitment to restoring peace and security.

Following Tinubu’s directive, Badaru stated that the military has intensified its operations against criminal elements and will sustain the momentum until the objective is achieved.

“The bandits are now on the run, but the military will not rest until we end this thing. The president has given us marching orders to end insecurity in every part of our country by the end of this year,” Badaru said.

He further emphasized that top security officials, including the Chief of Defence Staff and the National Security Adviser, are working tirelessly to meet the deadline.

“As you have seen, we are putting pressure on all the theatre operations. Mining activities have already resumed in Zamfara, and this is part of the reason for our security meetings—to assess high-risk areas and determine the best strategies for securing them,” he added.

The directive comes amid ongoing military offensives against bandits and insurgents across various regions, with authorities promising sustained action to restore national stability.
