NAF Reaffirms Commitment to Public–Private Partnerships as CAS Receives BUA Group

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public–private sector collaboration as the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, received a delegation from BUA Group on a courtesy visit to NAF Headquarters on 17 December 2025.

Welcoming the delegation, Air Marshal Aneke described the visit as a reflection of the growing importance of partnerships between the Armed Forces and indigenous conglomerates in advancing national development and security objectives. He noted that the engagement also highlighted the enduring values of excellence, discipline and leadership instilled by the NAF, as reflected in the achievements of its former Junior Airmen.

The CAS specifically referenced the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BUA Group, Dr Ubon Udoh, an alumnus of the Air Force Military School, Jos, whose presence, he said, underscored the Nigerian Air Force’s lasting impact on national leadership and enterprise.

Air Marshal Aneke commended BUA Group for its contributions to Nigeria’s industrial growth, infrastructure development, energy sector and job creation, stressing that sustainable economic development remains a key driver of lasting peace and security. He stated that national security and national development are mutually reinforcing, adding that his Command Philosophy is focused on building “a highly motivated, professional and mission-ready Air Force capable of delivering decisive airpower in support of national security objectives.”

He further emphasised that the Nigerian Air Force remains open to mutually beneficial partnerships that promote innovation, infrastructure development, energy sustainability, logistics support and corporate social responsibility initiatives aligned with NAF’s operational and welfare priorities.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dr Udoh expressed appreciation for the warm reception, describing the visit as a proud homecoming. He said the values of discipline, integrity and excellence instilled during his formative years as a Junior Airman have continued to guide his leadership journey.

Dr Udoh also reaffirmed BUA Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that align with Nigeria’s national security and development goals.

The CAS assured the delegation of the Nigerian Air Force’s professionalism, transparency and accountability in safeguarding national assets and investments, expressing optimism that the engagement would lead to practical areas of collaboration, particularly in infrastructure support, capacity development and alternative energy solutions, for the overall benefit of the nation.
