The Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy on Friday, 9 January 2026, held a special Juma’at Service as part of activities to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
The prayer session, which took place at the Command’s mosque, was attended by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, alongside senior officers, ratings and members of the Muslim community.

In his sermon, the Command Imam urged personnel to remain steadfast in their service to God and the nation, while calling for continuous prayers for the souls of fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the defence of Nigeria.
In a similar spirit of remembrance, the Command on Sunday, 11 January 2026, held an Interdenominational Church Service as part of the week-long commemorative activities. The service was attended by senior officers, families and personnel of the Command, with the Command Logistics Officer, Captain A. E. Oche, representing the FOC, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim.

During the church service, the Command’s Reverend Father reminded worshippers of their duty to serve both God and country with dedication and integrity. He also encouraged personnel and their families to continue to support the families of fallen service members, whose sacrifices remain a lasting symbol of patriotism and selflessness.

The two services formed part of the Central Naval Command’s contributions to the nationwide observance of the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, aimed at honouring the courage, sacrifices and enduring legacy of Nigerian Armed Forces personnel, both living and departed.
