The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to strengthening its medical services, describing healthcare delivery as a critical strategic enabler of operational effectiveness.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the Sundry Medical A1 Upgrading Course 6/2025 and Basic Medical Course 3/2025, held on 2 May 2025 at the Nigerian Air Force School of Medical Science and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM), Kaduna, Air Marshal Abubakar noted that the role of medical services goes beyond traditional support functions.

“We place high premium on medical services—not just as a support function but as a force multiplier,” the Air Chief stated.

He commended the graduating personnel for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence, describing them as embodiments of the NAF’s growing capacity to deliver responsive, world-class healthcare across all operational theatres.

Under his leadership, the NAF has scaled up investment in the training and professional development of its medical personnel, with specialized programmes being run both domestically and internationally. This, the CAS said, aligns with the broader vision of building a self-reliant, combat-ready medical corps equipped to safeguard the health, morale, and combat readiness of both air and ground personnel.

He also pointed to the ongoing expansion of the NAF’s healthcare infrastructure and its increasing contribution to national health outcomes.

“Through our network of facilities and skilled professionals, we are enhancing not only the welfare of our personnel but also extending vital medical services to the public,” he affirmed.

The Air Marshal reiterated that the NAF’s enduring commitment to innovation, healthcare excellence, and human capacity development will continue to position the Force as a health-conscious, combat-ready institution dedicated to the protection and prosperity of the Nigerian people.
