The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reiterated its commitment to the welfare of its personnel by investing in quality residential infrastructure, describing housing not merely as a basic need, but as a strategic asset for motivation, cohesion, and operational excellence.
While on an official visit to Kaduna, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, commissioned several new housing projects designed to improve the living standards of officers and airmen.
Among the newly inaugurated facilities are a block of 10 one-bedroom instructors’ quarters at the Military Training Centre, NAF Base Kaduna; a block of 30 one-bedroom apartments for married Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs); and a block of 12 one-bedroom transit quarters for single officers in Barkallahu.
“These projects reflect our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our officers, airmen, and airwomen,” the CAS stated. “Welfare remains central to my command philosophy.”
Air Marshal Abubakar noted that the initiative goes beyond addressing the urgent need for decent accommodation, as it embodies a broader effort to enhance professional capacity, boost morale, and strengthen the institutional pride of the service.
“By continuously expanding our infrastructure base, we are investing not just in buildings, but in performance, pride, and the enduring spirit of national service,” he added.
The CAS emphasized that improved welfare facilities are critical to empowering personnel to deliver on the NAF’s constitutional mandate with distinction.
