Abuja — The Nigerian Army has announced a minor shake-up in its high command, with the appointment of new Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), General Officers Commanding (GOCs), and senior commanders to head key formations across the country.

In the latest redeployment, Major General Chinedu Nnebeife has been appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Ibadan, while Major General A.S.K. Wase takes over as GOC 1 Division, Kaduna.

Other appointments include Major General M.O. Erebelu as Provost Marshall (PM) and Major General A.A. Idris as Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI).

Major General J.E. Osifo has been named Director-General, Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA), while Major General A.A. Adeyinka is the new Chief of Logistics at Army Headquarters.

In addition, Major General Adetoba has been appointed Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics Management (NACOLM), and Major General Ugiagbe, a former CMI, is now the Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation (CASE).

The shake-up also saw Major General Akesode deployed as head of the Monitoring, Verification and Compliance Mission in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia, while Major General M.T. Abdullahi now oversees the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Centre (NACWC).

The Army said the new postings, which take immediate effect, are part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen command structures.
