The Flag Officer Commanding(FOC) Central Naval Command (FOC CEN), Rear Admiral Umar Chugali’s has commenced a familiarization tour of ships under the Command at Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT) Jetty, Onne, Rivers State
The familiarization tour which commenced on Saturday July 22, 2023. saw the FOC CEN boarding Nigerian Navy Ships at FOT, Onne. and inspecting the readiness of the vessels.
Admiral Chugali had assumed duty as the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Central Naval Command (CNC), Yenagoa and had pledged to build on his predecessor’s achievements in fighting maritime crimes.
Chugali, took over from Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima, who was moved to the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, as Director of Plans.
The new FOC, CNC promised to ensure that critical infrastructure were secured for the nation, stating that he would ensure that everybody is carried along, just as he noted that he would also improve on what he saw on ground.
His words: “The expectations from the CNC were hardwork, successes, as well as maintaining and surpassing what had been achieved so far.
“I urge those involved in illegal maritime activities to desist from them, turn a new leaf and go into legitimate business.”
