The Nigerian Navy has announced the promotion of 24 senior officers from the rank of Commodore (one-star generals) to Rear Admiral (two-star generals) in a significant career advancement exercise.
In the same promotion round, 26 Navy Captains, equivalent to Colonels in the Nigerian Army, were elevated to the rank of Commodore, marking another milestone in the officers’ professional progression.
Although specific details of the promotion process are yet to be disclosed, the announcement underscores the Navy’s commitment to rewarding excellence and strengthening leadership within its ranks.
