Workers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and business people are currently stranded on the ever busy Abuja-Keffi road as personnel of the Nigerian Army mounted road block against commercial and private vehicles.
Workers who left homes as early as 5am for their respective working places are trapped inside their vehicles as at 10;20 am including other business people.
It was learnt that the chaotic situation has forced several people to abandon their vehicles to trek several kilometers in order to meet up with appointments.
It was noted that the road was blocked at the Kugbo Mechanic Village section of the Abuja axis.
Security reports obtained by the military late Tuesday night indicated that bandits were planning to enter the FCT through the Abuja-Keffi expressway and other entry points.
Following intelligence report, troops were placed on high alert and are deployed to strategic locations where they are mounting security checkpoints to monitor, prevent and arrest any potential attackers.
