* says he worries over every incident

Nigeria’s President,  Muhammadu Buhari has apologized to families and victims arson, kidnap and murder in the last few months following heightened insecurity,  assuring that he shares in the pains of families.

President Buhari in his June 12 Democracy and direct victims of ransom-seeking, kidnaped victims who went through unimaginable trauma in the course of their forced imprisonment.
He tendered the apology in a national broadcast to the nation to mark the 2021 Democracy Day.
Recall that that President Buhari, in 2018, had declared June 12 as the new date for the celebration of Democracy Day to honour MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the 1993 election.
The President who noted that in the last two years, Nigerians have witnessed and overcome a good number of testy challenges that would have destroyed other nations especially relating to security, hailed what he referred to as “indefatigable CAN DO Spirit of the Nigerian” which has sustained the country and help pushing these challenges behind.
The President who also hailed the families and friends of the men and women of the armed forces who lost their lives in the line of duty and as a sacrifice to keep Nigeria safe.
According to President Buhari: “Once again, I want to render my sincere and heart-felt condolences to the families and friends of our gallant service men and women who lost their lives in the line of duty and as a sacrifice to keep Nigeria safe.

“I extend the same condolence to the families and friends of our country men, women and children who were unfortunate victims of such senseless arsons, kidnappings and murders.
“I also share the pains of families and direct victims of ransom-seeking, kidnaped victims who went through unimaginable trauma in the course of their forced imprisonment.
“Let me assure my fellow citizens that every incident, however minor gives me great worry and concern and I immediately order security agencies to swiftly but safely rescue victims and bring perpetrators to justice.
The President who regretted some Nigerian criminals were taking undue advantage of a difficult situation and profiteering therefrom, warned that they should not mistake adherence to the democratic norms by his administration for being handicapped to frontally and decisively tackling them.
He declared: “We are already addressing these obstacles and we will soon bring some of these culprits to justice.”
President Buhari in the 59 paragraphs addressing listed the achievements of his administration in tackling insecurity, corruption and fixing the economy.
