The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI, Maj.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has called on troops of 112 Task Force Battalion to remain focused, vigilant and resilient in the discharge of their operational responsibilities.
Shaibu gave the charge on Saturday during his operational visit to the frontline troops deployed in Mafa.
He charged them to sustain an aggressive and ruthless posture against the remnants of Boko Haram Terrorists and their partners, the Islamic State of West African Province, in the Sector’s Area of Responsibility.
The GOC emphasized that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign is by no means over, and directed all troops to remain vigilant at all times while conducting their operational activities.
He explained that the need to improve on the spirit of comradeship, while suppressing any form of infiltration and attacks from the degraded terrorists in the area, in line with the mandate of the Operation and express directives of the COAS, Lt.-Gen. F. Yahaya, to decisively crush the remaining terrorists.
NAN report that the GOC was in Mafa in order to assess the operational posture of the troops in light of the recent murder of a number of farmers and fishermen by terrorists. (NAN)
