Katsina, Nigeria – Brig.-Gen. Babatunde Omopariola officially assumed command of the 17-Brigade, Katsina, and Commander Sector ‘2’ Joint Task Force Northwest ‘’Operation Hadarin Daji’ (JTF NW OPHD) on Friday.
Taking over from Brig.-Gen. Oluremi Fadairo, who has been appointed Commander of the 12-Brigade Lokoja, Omopariola expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tahoeed Lagbaja, for the new responsibility.
In his maiden address to the officers of the Brigade, Omopariola pledged to work collaboratively with all personnel to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
Prior to his appointment, Omopariola served as the Chief of Staff at Headquarters 6-Division Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt. The handover ceremony included a symbolic exchange of the Command Flag and a Quarter Guard parade.
