Contrary to speculation that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja who died last week was killed by cancer, militarynewsng.com can now confirm that the late COAS died after a domestic accident.

Competent source from the family of the late Army Chief said General Lagbaja died after a bathroom accident and was flown to Germany where he later suffered stroke and died.

One of the sources who spoke to militarynewsng.com from Germany said “he officially died on Tuesday.”

The source who pleaded anonymity said “may God continue to be with us. You see, General had a domestic accident. He slipped in the bathroom and suffered serious stroke. He went into coma and died clinically some weeks back”.

For weeks after the accident, it was learnt that General Lagbaja went into coma, after slipping and hitting his head on the bathroom floor.

“He landed on his head and went into coma and was placed on life support, ” the source said.

Militarynewsng.com reports that the  deceased General was only confirmed dead on Tuesday after his life support machine was unplugged.

Confirming this, the source said:  “The life support machine was removed after clearance was secured from necessary.”

Militarynwwsng.com recalls that few weeks ago, it was rumored that Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja is dead, but was  later denied by the authorities of the Force.
