In a show of purposeful leadership and commitment to troop welfare, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander, Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu, has visited frontline troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Bama, and 26 Task Force Brigade, to boost morale and assess ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North East.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, formed part of the GOC’s routine engagements aimed at motivating troops and ensuring sustained operational effectiveness in the fight against insurgency.

During the visit, Brigadier General Unachukwu commended the troops for their dedication, courage, and professionalism in discharging their constitutional duties. He charged them to remain focused, disciplined, and ready to decisively deal with terrorists operating in the region.

“I implore you to exhibit a high level of professionalism, discipline, and decorum during operations in line with global best practices,” he told the troops.

The GOC also reassured the soldiers of improved logistical support and provision of critical combat enablers to enhance efficiency in ongoing operations. He emphasized that their sacrifices were well recognized and appreciated by both the military leadership and the nation.

Brigadier General Unachukwu directed troops to continue dominating their areas of responsibility to deny terrorists freedom of action and prevent attacks on communities in Borno State. He stressed that maintaining constant operational presence was key to creating a secure and stable environment for economic and social activities to thrive in the North East.

“The safety and progress of the people depend largely on your ability to maintain control of your sectors. You must remain vigilant and proactive in countering any threat to peace,” he added.
