The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) has announced plans to host its third professional course, titled “Maritime Security and Global Trade”, aimed at equipping key players in the maritime and logistics sector with critical insights on security and trade dynamics.

The two-day course is scheduled to hold from April 29 to 30, 2025, at the IMION Auditorium, located within the premises of NNS Quorra, Harbour Road, Lagos. Proceedings will commence at 9:30 a.m. daily.

According to the organisers, the training will feature keynote sessions from top industry experts and will provide participants with practical strategies for mitigating risks in maritime operations, while exploring the evolving landscape of global trade.

The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) had in September 2024 hosted its inaugural workshop, focusing on maritime security and the Blue Economy, which addressed issues relating to piracy, illegal fishing, and smuggling in the Gulf of Guinea.

The workshop, according the institute is open to stakeholders across the maritime industry, including port operators, freight forwarders, supply chain managers, importers and exporters, among others.
