In line with his Command Philosophy of enhancing the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for greater agility and resilience, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, recently paid a working visit to NAF Base Bauchi.

The visit aimed at inspecting ongoing infrastructural developments and assessing NAF’s operational readiness.

During his visit, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized the importance of infrastructure as a key factor in advancing the transformation of the NAF. He interacted with personnel, addressing their concerns and discussing practical solutions to improve operational efficiency. His engagement reflected his broader vision of ensuring that all NAF units are adequately prepared to meet emerging security challenges.

Commending the progress made at NAF Base Bauchi, the CAS highlighted how improved personnel welfare and enhanced working conditions are critical to maintaining a motivated and focused force. “Our ability to meet national security challenges depends on maintaining a highly motivated and focused force, which is why welfare and infrastructural renewal are top priorities,” he said. He further stressed the need for continuous improvement in the maintenance of air assets, citing it as crucial for sustaining air operations across all environments.

Air Marshal Abubakar’s visit also extended to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Centre for Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development (CSTED) in Tafawa Balewa. He conducted a comprehensive assessment of the CSTED facilities alongside the Vice-Chancellor of ATBU, Professor Sani Usman Kunya, and Honourable Barrister Jafaru Gambo Leko, a member of the House of Representatives.

This strategic partnership with ATBU aims to enhance technical human capacity development and foster Research and Development (R&D) for the NAF. The collaboration aligns with the CAS’s Command Philosophy, particularly regarding training, mission-oriented force development, and the optimization of R&D through cutting-edge technologies and partnerships.

The visit underscores the NAF’s commitment to maintaining operational readiness and its efforts to forge strategic partnerships to bolster national security.
