Lagos – The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, on Friday, March 14, 2025, held a graduation ceremony for officers who successfully completed the Senior and Mid-Level Officers’ Entrepreneurship and Management Course 13/2025.
The four-to-five-week training program was designed to equip officers with the necessary skills to establish and manage businesses both during service and after retirement.
Commitment to Economic Growth
Speaking at the event, NAFRC Commandant, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) B.R. Mamman, described the graduation as a significant milestone in the careers of the participants. He commended their dedication and strategic thinking, emphasizing that the training had positioned them as “engines of growth, creators of wealth, and drivers of innovation in a rapidly evolving world.”
AVM Mamman highlighted the program’s enhanced curriculum, which included a visit to Songhai Farms in Porto Novo, Benin Republic. He noted that the experience broadened participants’ knowledge in agriculture and business management.
“You have been empowered to shape the future, turn visions into realities, and contribute to national development,” he stated.
To support the officers in their entrepreneurial journey, the Commandant announced that NAFRC would collaborate with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to facilitate business registration for participants.
Encouragement from Experts
Also in attendance was the Country Representative of EMPRETEC Nigeria Foundation, Mrs. Onari Duke, who congratulated the graduating officers and encouraged them to apply their new skills effectively.
“This training has equipped you with the tools to become not only successful entrepreneurs but also effective leaders who can drive positive change in your respective fields,” Duke remarked.
She urged them to remain innovative, adaptable, and focused on empowering others as they transition into new career phases.
Course Highlights and Future Prospects
Director of Training, Brigadier General A.O. Olatunji, emphasized that the course had been carefully designed to meet the evolving needs of officers transitioning into business and management. He praised the participants for adhering to the course’s code of conduct and expressed confidence in their readiness for life after active service.
The ceremony concluded with AVM Mamman formally presenting awards to the graduating participants, urging them to “lead with purpose, innovate with courage, and make a lasting impact on their organizations and the nation.”
