The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, alongside other Service Chiefs, on Friday, participated in a special Juma’ah prayer at the National Mosque, Abuja, as part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.

The solemn prayer session formed part of nationwide commemorations dedicated to honouring the bravery, sacrifices and enduring service of Nigerian military personnel who paid the supreme price in the defence of the nation.

Air Marshal Aneke was represented at the event by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdullahi, who joined senior government officials, members of the Armed Forces and members of the public in paying tribute to Nigeria’s fallen heroes.

The gathering served as a moment of reflection and gratitude, reaffirming the nation’s collective resolve to remember and honour the sacrifices of its service men and women. It also underscored the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces to the preservation of Nigeria’s peace, unity and security.

Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day is observed annually to recognise the courage and dedication of military personnel and to immortalise the memory of those who laid down their lives in service to the country.
